Artist Statement

My work deals with themes of objectification, femininity, and nightlife. I use a monochrome palette to create a dark mood evocative of vintage film and photography. Each piece is a snapshot hinting at a larger narrative where objectification and empowerment interplay. Rejecting both anti-objectification and puritanical codes, my work occupies a liminal space where female sexuality is at once highly labor-intensive, performative, and glorified.

The physical struggle and materiality of screen printing gives an indispensable aura, texture, and individuality to every piece. Imperfections and distress contribute to the sense of vintage media. Many prints begin with photoshoot images which I then draw and use as a reference for the film positives. The image transforms at each step of the process until the final layer is printed.
